Chorus description
(membership, repertoire, etc):
Aug.15,2015: To schedule an audition, please contact our Director, David Recca, via e-mail: auditions@sccamerata.org. Rehearsals are a place of enthusiasm, camaraderie, and musical curiosity. We are actively seeking skilled singers of all voice types. Rehearsals are held on Wednesday evenings from 7:30-9:45 in Norwalk, CT. For more information about the chorus, please visit sccamerata.org. (501)(c)(3) The Southern Connecticut Camerata is an auditioned chamber chorus based in Norwalk, CT which specializes in the performance of rarely-heard a cappella works from the late Medieval, Renaissance, and Modern eras. Approaching its 60th season, SCC continues to challenge its singers to delve the depths of an exciting and broad repertoire with the purpose of fostering the musical growth of each of its members. Upcoming concerts will feature works by Morales, Guerrero, Josquin, Machaut, Stravinsky, Górecki and Pärt. For more information, please visit sccamerata.org. Southern Connecticut Camerata (SCC) continues the enduring tradition of The Westport Madrigal Singers, founded by Jeanne D. Kimball in 1955. The group changed its name to Southern Connecticut Camerata in 2009.
