Description

St. Paul's Choir is an auditioned choir, composed of professional section leaders and volunteers. We are a group committed to deep engagement with the spiritual power and gift of choral music in our lives. We work hard together, preparing at least 2 anthems for every Sunday morning service through the church year (summers are off), including special choral services at Christmas (our Candlelight Carols service on the Sunday evening before Christmas), at the beginning of Lent (our Lenten Invitation Service, in which we perform a full Requiem – e.g., in the past we have sung Mozart, DuruflĂ©, FaurĂ©), and Holy Week (our Good Friday service). In a day when so much attention is focused on "me", our intent is to try maintaining our attention on "we". In so doing, we frame our singing together more as "offering" than "performance", and we try to be mindful of the unexpected gifts we receive in our giving.
