Fewer than half of the singers come from Lexington; others come from 15 surrounding towns. Requiring no audition, the "Pops" is Lexington's only community chorus, singing the complete choral repertoire of classical, folk, show tunes, traditional American, jazz, blues and gospel, as well as pieces from contemporary composers. The season consists of two concerts each in January and May.
