Description

A regionally-based choral society which draws its members from over 22 communities in the central Connecticut region. The primary purpose of the all volunteer choir is to perform both large choral works and smaller ensemble or chamber settings in local communities. Choir members have additional opportunities for creativity in conducting (there are currently three assistant conductors) and in composing works that will be heard in one of our concerts. The Treble Choir, of singers 6 to 16 years old, frequently participates in the concert performances.

The choir presents two or three concerts in early December, two or three near Easter, and one performance of a major choral work with full orchestra in the spring. A variable number of chamber music recitals employing small ensembles of choir members are also presented each year. Many of our concerts are subsequently rebroadcast over WMRD (Middletown) and WLIS (Old Saybrook).
