Description

The Club’s male singing group, the Schubertchor, was formed in 1931. Its inspiration was Franz Schubert whose musical catalog includes over two hundred vocal works. A women’s group, the Lorelei was established years later and performed as a solo group and often with the men for mixed compositions. Today both groups perform as one chorus.

The chorus puts on two performances every year, at Christmas and in Spring. A typical program is a lively medley of German folk songs, some classical pieces by Mozart, Schubert or the like - and some fun tunes from Broadway, Hollywood and elsewhere - that everyone will recognize and enjoy.

We are always looking for new members and our only requirement is a love of German song. You may get in touch with us using the email reply below or simply drop in at a rehearsal. Weekly rehearsals are September - December for our Christmas concert, and February - May for our Spring concert.
