\ \ Marianna von Martines was Mozart's contemporary, played in the same circles, and was the first woman to win membership in the Accademica Filarmonica of Bologna. Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel was Felix's sister, and colleague, playing concerts with him as well as running her own concert series. She wrote 3 cantatas in 1831. Composer and violist Rebecca Clarke achieved fame in 1919 with her viola sonata, and continued to compose challenging and powerful works. Erna Woll was a church organist, teacher, and choral director. She composed over 200 works, many of them sacred.
