iCal 3:00 PM. Chorale Connecticut and Soloists of Voice Ensemble of Hartford [CT]: Handel’s Messiah sung by Chorale Connecticut and the Voice Ensemble of Hartford. G. F. Handel: Messiah (Christmas portion). Chorale Connecticut singers will be joined with past members to make up fifty-five total, professional soloists who perform with the Voice Ensemble of Hartford, and will be accompanied by ten accomplished Connecticut orchestra musicians. A dessert reception will follow the performance. We look forward to celebrating the holiday season together at this, our Grand Finale. The composition will celebrate the natural settings of Henry David Thoreau’s writing in three parts, featuring a baritone soloist. The instrumental accompaniment will include a string quartet and clarinet solo. This work will blend with Walker’s well-known tribute to Emily Dickinson, ‘A Heart In Hiding”. Ivo Antognini: Hope is the thing with feathers (poetry by Emily Dickinson); Hubert Parry: There is an old belief; Samuel Coleridge-Taylor: Magnificat in F; Trevor Weston: Lauda (premiere, commissioned work, poetry by Angelo Geter); works of J.S.
