Join composer Jonathan Santore and poet Peggy Johnson for an insightful discussion about Requiem: Learning to Fall. Commissioned by the Yeoman’s Fund for the Arts, Santore’s choral-orchestral work uses texts by Peggy Johnson that were inspired by Philip Simmons’s book Learning to Fall, a reflection on the art of living and his experiences with Lou Gehrig's disease (ALS). Plus, local educator and artist Nanette Constant has designed a glass mosaic to reflect Philip Simmons’s book. Participants will work with the artist to make this project. A raffle will be held at the concert on May 21 and May 22 to win the mosaic. All proceeds will go to the ALS Association. Space is limited!
