6:00 PM. Boston Symphony Orchestra/Tanglewood Festival Chorus [MA]: Tanglewood Festival Chorus Prelude Concert. A program of Shakespeare settings. Ralph Vaughan Williams: Three Shakespeare Songs; Serenade to Music; Felix Mendelssohn: "Philomel, with melody" from A Midsummer Night's Dream; Jaakko Mäntyjärvi: "Double, double, toil, and trouble" from 4 Shakespeare Songs; Frank Martin: Songs of Ariel; George Shearing: "It was a lover and his lass" from Songs and Sonnets; Cole Porter: "Another Op'nin', Another Show" from Kiss Me, Kate; Hector Berlioz: "Le vin de Syracuse" from Béatrice et Bénédict. Conductor: James Burton, Conductor of the Schola Cantorum of Oxford University. Friday-evening BSO concert tickets admit patrons to the same day's Prelude Concert, which takes place at 6 pm in Ozawa Hall.
