8:00 PM. Cantata Singers [MA]: Bach and Harbison. J.S. Bach: Cantata BWV 140, "Sleepers, awake"; John Harbison: Sacred Trilogy ("The Flight Into Egypt", "But Mary Stood", "The Supper at Emmaus"), presented in honor of the composer's 80th birthday. The three cantatas that form Harbison's Trilogy were all commissioned by Cantata Singers, but have never before been heard together in one concert. Composer John Harbison and composer and writer Robert Kirzinger will give a pre-concert talk, free to all ticketholders, at 7 pm in Williams Hall.
