8:00 PM. Da Camera Singers [MA]: Dissident Voices. Celebrating voices that have expressed dissent through their historical actions, their poetry, or their musical compositions. Music of Ethyl Smyth, Margaret Bonds, Leonard Bernstein, William Albright, and Francisco J. Núñez. The repertoire includes settings of the poetry of Langston Hughes and Eric Gamalinda. Holyoke poet Anika Nailah will present her own spoken poetry and be our narrator for Bernstein’s “The Lark.” Pianist Nancy Babb will perform settings of spirituals by Bonds.
