4:00 PM. City Singers [CT]: Celtic Fire! Thev Eternal Flame. A program tracing the evolution of Celtic music from its ancient roots in melodies from the Celtic regions of Galicia (northern Spain), Norway, and other parts of Europe to Irish fiddle tunes and music by celebrated composers such as Turlough O'Carolan, Sean O'Raida, and Michael McGlynn. A band of musicians playing Irish harp, wooden flute, fiddle, guitar, mandolin, concertina, bodhrán, double bass, pipe organ and Highland pipes will be featured and will accompany the singers. $20 requested donation.
