7:00 PM. The Naghash Ensemble of Armenia [NH]: Songs of Exile. Two Armenian sopranos and one alto, along with instrumentalists on duduk, oud, dhol, and piano, perform new music by Armenian-American composer John Hodian, set to sacred texts by the medieval Armenian mystic poet and priest Mkrtich Naghash. The writing is choral in conception — delightful contrapuntal vocals over a chamber ensemble — and of particular interest to singers and choruses working in sacred and early repertoire. Tickets $45.
