7:00 PM. South Hadley Chorale [MA]: Rehearsals to Begin for Chichester Psalms. The South Hadley Chorale will begin rehearsals for its new season on Wednesday, October 9, 2019. The program will feature Leonard Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms, plus smaller pieces such as Benjamin Britten’s Jubilate Deo, Libby Larson’s Beneath These Alien Stars, Randall Thompson’s Something Like a Star, and Eric Whitacre’s Five Hebrew Love Songs. Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the First Congregational Church, South Hadley. The concert is March 15, 2020, in Abbey Chapel at Mount Holyoke College. Alexandra Ludwig returns for her second year as music director and conductor. The South Hadley Chorale is made up of over 70 singers from 17 communities. All interested singers are invited to join. 7:00 PM. South Hadley Chorale [MA]: Seeking Singers of All Voice Parts. The South Hadley Chorale seeks volunteer singers of all voice parts for our 2017-18 season! This year, we will be collaborating with the Valley Winds, a wind ensemble based in the Pioneer Valley, on a diverse program of music for choir and winds. Repertoire includes music of Bach, Brahms, Schubert, and Persichetti, in a program entitled “Sing Me The Universal: Music of Life and Death.” The South Hadley Chorale rehearses on Wednesday evenings, 7-9 pm, at Center Church in South Hadley, MA. Our first rehearsal is on Wednesday October 4, with the season finale concert on March 11 2018, at Abbey Chapel on the campus of Mount Holyoke College. Come check us out at our opening rehearsal on October 4! We’re a warm non-auditioned group with singers from their twenties to their eighties, and we love making beautiful music and having fun together.
