7:30 PM. Concord Chorus [MA]: Concord Chorus Auditions and Open Rehearsals. Founded in 1946, the Concord Chorus performs several concerts of choral-orchestral and smaller works each season. Auditions for all voice parts will be held during two open rehearsals on Mondays, September 12 and 19, 2022, from 7:30 to 10 PM at Trinity Episcopal Church’s Parish Hall in Concord, Massachusetts. The audition consists of scales, ear and pitch memory exercises, and sight-reading in order to evaluate voice, ear, and reading abilities. A prepared piece is not required, but prior musical experience is expected.
\ \ The repertory of the Concord Chorus encompasses music from the 16th century to the present. This season’s concerts include Joseph Haydn’s “Maria Theresa Mass” with professional soloists and orchestra and music of Palestrina, Brahms, Copland, John Rutter, and Jennifer Higdon.
\ \ Rehearsals are held on Monday evenings from 7:30 to 10 PM and begin September 12, 2022. Winter Holiday Concerts will be Saturday, December 10, 2022; and the Haydn concert will be Saturday, May 20, 2023.
\ \ At this time, all singers are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and have had at least one booster dose. Masks are also required. Interested singers are asked to email the Music Director, Dr. Kevin Leong, at kleong@concordchorus.org to set up an audition.
\ \ The Concord Chorus is a wonderful group of welcoming people who enjoy singing while learning a diverse choral repertoire and performing at the highest level.
