7:30 PM. Mystic Chorale [MA]: Mystic Chorale's 35th Anniversary Concert. A rousing concert that revisits many of the gems sung over the decades, including Before My Ashes Flow to the Sea; Senzeni Na/We Shall Overcome; Swing Low; The Storm is Passing Over; Swimming to the Other Side; Miriam’s Song, Now Let Us Sing, This is a Promise I Will Keep, and One Voice. Also included is "Celebration" - an anthem for this season’s salute to Mystic’s history! Led by music director Mike Pfitzer, the performance features Mystic Chorale Founder, Nick Page leading a sing-along and performing a solo, and guest artists Jonathan Singleton, Donnell Patterson, and Louise Grasmere. Mystic Chorale celebrates women songwriters, singers, and composers with songs from 1000 years ago to the present with songs including "Love is Like a Butterfly" by Dolly Parton, W"ould You Harbor Me?" by Ysaye Barnwell, "Crowded Table" by The Highwomen (Brandi Carlile’s ensemble), "Closer to Fine" by Indigo Girls, Pata Pata by Miriam Makeba, along with suffragist anthems "Bread and Roses" and "Keep Marching" from the Broadway musical, Suffs.
