In response to this year's devastating pandemic—which has eliminated live performance of choral music throughout New England—Choral Arts New England instituted a special round of emergency grants to provide some operational relief for choral organizations. Available funding allowed for 20 grants of $500 each; recipients were selected from nearly 60 applicants, with priority given to smaller organizations for whom the grant would have the most impact.

The grant recipients are:

• Coolidge Corner Community Chorus, Brookline Mass.
• The Gentlemen Songsters, North Chelmsford Mass.
• Halalisa Singers, Reading Mass.
• Hampshire Young People's Chorus, Northampton Mass.
• In Choro Novo, West Roxbury Mass.
• Ipswich River Community Chorus, North Reading Mass.
• Jamestown Community Chorus, Jamestown R.I.
• Journey Song, Portsmouth N.H.
• Mad River Chorale, Waitsfield Vt.
• Master Singers of Worcester, Worcester Mass.
• Montpelier Community Gospel Choir, Montpelier Vt.
• Rockingham Choral Society, Exeter N.H.
• Sharon Community Chorus, Sharon Mass.
• Sippican Choral Society, Marion Mass.

In addition to these emergency grants, Choral Arts New England will continue to offer Alfred Nash Patterson grants in 2021 (their 37th consecutive year), for activities that support the choral arts in New England.
