Portland, ME, ME

A major choral work telling the story of the Portland, Maine, "Great Fire of 1866,"  designed to engage Maine audiences and singers, both through its artistry and its local historical relevance.  A special “Ramsey Commission Committee” was created to build local partnerships to raise awareness and engage audiences in the community who might not already be regular concert attendees, but have an interest in local history. The committee is developing educational and cultural enrichment programs in partnership with the Maine Historical Society, Greater Portland Landmarks, and Maine State Historian, Earle Shettleworth, who will present a pre-concert lecture, as well as a recorded video for advance publicity.
