Join Us for the 2026 Choral Arts New England Awards Ceremony

Choral Arts New England will host its annual awards ceremony on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Saint David’s Episcopal Church in Gales Ferry, CT. The event will celebrate exemplary contributions to the region’s choral life and recognize recipients of the 2026 Alfred Nash Patterson Grants.

This year’s Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to Dr. Jamie Spillane, an influential conductor and artistic leader whose work has shaped and strengthened New England’s choral community for decades.

Thank you to everyone who was able to join us earlier this month for our 40th Annual Awards Ceremony. It was such a joy to celebrate the recipients of our 2024 Alfred Nash Patterson Grants - choral organizations across New England, including from Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont and Massachusetts.

This year's ceremony honored the recipients of the 2024 Alfred Nash Patterson Awards and recognized Dr. André De Quadros with the Alfred Nash Patterson Lifetime Achievement Award for exceptional contributions to the choral arts.

Choral Arts New England Award Ceremony Honors Lifetime Achievement Award Winner Marguerite Brooks and Fifteen Recipients of Alfred Nash Patterson Grants

Choral Arts New England will hold its 35th annual awards ceremony and reception on Sunday, November 3, 2019, honoring our 2019 Alfred Nash Patterson grant recipients and our Lifetime Achievement Award winner, Marguerite Brooks. The ceremony will take place at 3:00 pm at Old South Church, in Copley Square, Boston, with a reception to follow. The event is free and open to the public. All are welcome.

Unlike Bob Dylan, I neither disdain nor dismiss the honor of receiving an award. Although, as many of you know, the reward for making music is simply the joy, the indescribable pleasure of making music – for yourself and for others.

I hadn’t think of myself as old enough to receive a “lifetime achievement” award. Until now, I guess. I look at the list of past recipients and I see my teachers, Eliot Forbes, Daniel Pinkham and Lorna Cook DeVaron. And many other very distinguished colleagues. I’m flattered to be in their company.
