The Festival Chorus and the Special Projects Choir of the Unitarian Church in Westport premiere a new work by artistic director Ellen Dickinson: Threads of Light, which weaves together over thirty spirituals, including familiar songs ("Deep River" and "My Lord, What a Morning") and others less often heard. With Harriett Alfred, soprano; Edward Pleasant, bass; trumpet, upright bass, and bells; and special guests reading poetry by African-American poets.
