Auditions for 2026-2027 Season

Cantemus Chamber Chorus, Wenham MA

Cantemus Announces Call for Singers and Invites Public to Season Preview

Cantemus Chamber Chorus, with members from across Massachusetts' North Shore, invites interested singers in all voice parts to audition for the 2026-2027 concert season. Auditions will take place Tuesday, September 8 and Tuesday, September 15, 2026 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at First Church in Wenham, 1 Arbor St., Wenham, MA. Prospective singers are invited to visit www.cantemus.org for more information about the chorus. To schedule an audition appointment or ask for more information, singers should email Cantemus’ Chorus Manager at info@cantemus.org.

Cantemus invites the public to join the chorus for a free Season Preview on Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at 7:15 p.m., also at First Church in Wenham. Artistic Director Jason Iannuzzi says, “This is always a fun evening of exploring new repertoire. You can join in the singing, or just listen. There’s no admission fee and no pressure of performance at the Preview because it’s just an introduction to the music we’ll be working on this season. It’s a great way to meet Cantemus.”

Cantemus’s first concerts of the season, “Once Upon a Winter: Tales of Wonder Through a Child’s Eyes,” will be on December 5, 12, and 13 in Newburyport, Beverly, and Gloucester respectively. Iannuzzi said it will be “an imaginative concert exploring the season through stories of wonder, memory, family, and hope.” The concert will feature Matthew Harris's A Child's Christmas in Wales, based on Dylan Thomas’s beloved autobiographical story, and a rich tapestry of contemporary and traditional repertoire from diverse cultural perspectives. The chorus will be joined by instrumentalists and the Lexington Children's Chorus. “It will be a celebration of shared humanity,” said Iannuzzi.

For its concerts in May, Cantemus will perform “A Place Called Home.” The program will explore the desire for belonging, with music reflecting memory, welcome, hope, and community – and the reality that home is more than just a place. “If you're looking for a choir that values artistic excellence, thoughtful programming, and meaningful storytelling,” said Iannuzzi, “we'd love to have you join us for this musical journey.”
