Detailed Position Summary: 

Longwood Chorus seeks a highly skilled and passionate musician to serve as their rehearsal pianist for the upcoming semester.  Rehearsals run from 7:15 PM-9:15 PM at United Parish, Brookline. See current semester schedule here.  Time commitment is to be approximately 2 rehearsal hours per week, plus outside preparation time as required to learn music in advance of rehearsals. The rehearsal pianist will be provided the semester’s sheet music in as timely a manner as possible, and will be expected to arrive at rehearsals and concerts fully prepared to play at the top of their skill level. In rare circumstances, the pianist may be asked to sight-read music with little to no advanced notice. The Rehearsal Pianist is a member of the Artistic Team and reports to the Artistic Director. About Longwood Chorus:

Longwood Chorus is Boston’s non-profit, 100+ voice community choir of Boston's healthcare and science community. Our mission is to bring together a community of healthcare and research professionals to decrease medical burnout, promote emotional wellness, and perform high-quality choral music.  Since its founding in 2017, the Longwood Chorus has brought together singers of various healthcare backgrounds – medical, graduate, and public health students, researchers, clinical research coordinators, therapists, nurses, residents, and attending physicians  from local schools and hospitals. We stage biannual concerts along with numerous outreach performances at hospitals and community events and enjoy collaborations with our colleagues in the Longwood Symphony Orchestra.

Submissions will be accepted until 8/1/2026. The final portion of the interview will be in person with the Artistic Director and members of the Choir at 5:30 PM on 08/04, where candidates will be asked to prepare excerpts from choral works they receive 48 hours in advance and play them with the AD, as well as sight read a work for the AD and Choir Members.
